This unit has a full-featured software, but lacks in my opinion CPU and memory cache, which can cause some problems quite troublesome to use. I set it up with 4 drives in Raid 5 on a network Gb. I bought the model 115 (for info, the last two digits correspond to the year/model in Synology), because it has good technical specifications, and that the RAID is not required necessarily when the RAID system itself is not redundant... The hand is not easy, and extremely poorly documented. I would say that if you do not have a competence network, do not attempt such an acquisition. With skills in network basic, I spent several days to understand the functioning of this NAS. A week after my purchase, when I finally had everything set up and transferred, Synology has updated its DSM (Disk Station Manager, the software that manages the NAS) to the benefit of version 5. 2.
